Curious how your experience has been using Apple Watch for public transportation. Is it reliable? Considering this method over the physical card for our upcoming trip.
Worked seamlessly for us in May on the metro.
Did you have to open the app on your watch to validate each time?
No, we purchased tickets through the app, then set up the card as an express transit card in Wallet.
Just make sure that when purchasing the tickets, you choose Apple Watch as your method of use. You can't have the tickets on both your watch and your phone. If you choose your iphone, you won't be able to use your watch to tap and pay.
Thanks for that info! I didn't read that in the official website guide. We'll have the Nav Decouverte.
Did you buy directly through the Apple Wallet process, or did you use the IDF/RATP app to purchase. Much thanks!
Last Q: Did you wait to buy until you got there? I heard purchasing within the US might be geo-blocked on the app. I was considering using a VPN the day before to set everything up. Or just wait and do it at the airport.
Earlier I said we used the app, but I just looked and realized we purchased directly through Wallet. We did it right on our watches. I remember that now because we never had the app on our watches. We (3 people) purchased here in the US without any issues.
Here's the big question:
Can I use express mode on the Apple Watch with a Navigo Devouverte?

This video shows express mode, where you simply wave the watch without having to FaceID or enter password. But I believe this is with a Navigo ticket purchased through Apple Wallet, and not the IDF app, which is where I need to get my Decouverte.
