We rented a gorgeous apartment in the 7th arrondissement the last week of April. The rental agency demanded a 600 Euro damage deposit. Payment to rental agency was through PayPal. One month later no return on deposit. Emailed rental agency several times no response. Filed a dispute with PayPal on their site five days later refund made to our credit card. I am not a employee of paypal but any financial transactions to Europe it gives you a fighting chance to make sure things are legit

We have never once in 64 rentals most of them international had any issues with prompt return of the security deposit. It would be a real service to give us the name of the company that failed to return yours timely (or at all apparently). I am surprised paypal handled this; that is good news.
Agencies that mess over renters need to be known so others don't have this experience.
