Aparthotel Adagio or Citadines in Paris

I am returning to Paris this fall (October/November) for up to 4 weeks. In the past I have stayed in hotels or VRBO or other rentals. This year I need an accommodation that I can cancel close to the date as a parent is unwell. I am looking for a studio in an apartment hotel so I can have a few simple meals in my room and a bit more space than a hotel with a minibar. I have stayed in an Adagio aparthotel a few years ago in Aix-en Provence so I understand the interior environment. I did do a search of this forum for Adagio & Citadines.

I like the 5th, 6th, 7th and 15th arrondissements but am open to other areas. I don't want to be far from the Seine.

I have looked at Citadines and Aparthotel Adagio. Citadines are far more pricy than the Adagio branded locations in my recent searches. Citadines does score better on Trip Advisor for some locations.

Has anyone had personal experience with Aparthotel Adagio or Citadines sites in Paris? If so, what location did you stay in and were you satisfied with your stay.

Thanks in advance.

I've stayed in Citadines and they're usually very good. You usually get a hob and a microwave oven for cooking, plus a decent supply of utensils. The one I stayed at a few times is Citadines Bastille Gare de Lyon, which is quite a distance from Bastille but in a pleasant neighbourhood close to the well-known Aligre street market. I haven't stayed in Adagios so can't really compare.

I will be staying at Citadines Bastille/Marais (37 Boulevard Richard Lenoir) for a few days at the end of February and can let you know.

Three of us stayed for twelve days in a 1 bedroom apt. at the Citadines Saint Germain in the fall of 2017. Although a little tight for three adults, we easily made do, and it would have been perfect for 1-2 people. It was about a 10 minute walk to the St. Michel metro from there. We really enjoyed the coffee/hot chocolate bar in the lobby plus there was a laundry room where we could wash some clothes without having to leave the premises. We had a small fridge, stovetop, microwave, sink, dishes and cutlery, plus a small dining table in the living area. We were very satisfied with our accommodations and I'd stay at a Citadines again, but not caring about being close to the Seine I would plan on another area to explore as there are multiple Citadines across Paris.

To The Other Bob, do you think that whatever problems you experienced would likely transfer to properties in the Adagio family?

I also am a regular Accor person, used to be Sofitel and Novotel, then Suitehotel and Mercure, now more often Ibis and Ibis Styles.

I've looked at Adagio in the French suburb of Monaco but never actually stayed there (this was in my Monaco Novotel days).

I'd appreciate your advice.

Thanks for the feedback. I look forward to the discussion.

I am leaning towards Citadines Trocadero. Close to one of my favourite markets, President Wilson and to the Eiffel Tower view from the Trocadero. There is a Monoprix grocery just down the street.

I have stayed at the Citadines Trocadéro several times, and enjoyed each visit. I think it was recently renovated.

The little market street of Rue des Belles Feuilles is a block away: at Au Poulet de Bresse, the take away roast chicken and roast potatoes is amazing. Also Lillo for cheese. And the nearby Brasserie Le Stella is a neighborhood go-to for shellfish platters and French classics. Careme at Place Trocadéro is great for pastries and chocolat chaud.

Hi June, we stayed at the Citadines Bastille Marais. We stayed for only a few nights; wish we could have stayed longer. The room overall was good. The beds were very comfortable. I could not sleep but it might have been due to jet lag. It also could have been a noisy fan in the bedroom that I could not figure out how to turn off. It was nice to have a kitchenette, a table and chairs, a sofa with a chair and ottoman, and a separate bedroom with a door. One thing that was weird was that the toilet and the shower were in two separate rooms across the hall from each other. There was also a door separating the living area from the foyer which includes the rooms with the toilet and shower. The shower was great! The metro was a short walk away which was very convenient. There was a nice continental breakfast in the lobby which included yummy bread, cheese, and salami. There is a grocery store a very short walk away as well as a few restaurants. There were actually several grocery stores within walking distance. Our room looked out over a courtyard but we kept the windows closed most of the time for privacy because you are looking out on other apartments. The WiFi was good. You will definitely be able to have a few simple meals in your room and much more space than a hotel with a minibar. Have a great trip!
