Anyone stay at Hotel La Perle or Hotel Pont Royal in Paris?

Anyone stay at Hotel La Perle or Hotel Pont Royal in Paris? Good or bad reviews is much appreciated. Have both booked for July, but need to pick one.

Thanks!

So, as a Paris local, I have not stayed, but I can comment on how they "feel": they are very different places.
Hotel Pont Royal has a luxurious curb appeal, I passed by a few times and thought 'wow'. Star ratings mean little in France, but this is a 5-star hotel and they don't hand those ratings like candy. The area feels fancy too, with expensive furniture stores and art galleries all around. You are still very close to more lively streets with regular shops and restaurants.

Hotel La Perle is a traditional hotel in a nondescript 18th c. building*, in a very tiny old street brimming with bars and restaurants. The block used to be quite boisterous at night, but it is more upscale these days.

If both cost the same, then Pont Royal looks to have better value for money, but La Perle is closer to "the action".

*Yes, there is such a thing as a "nondescript 18th century building". I live in such a building, every wall is hollow and it is seemingly held together by magic and a few skinny beams.

I stayed at Hotel La Perle last September prior to the Loire to So France tour. Would stay there again. Great location, helpful front desk. Cute little garden area. Elevator :-)

Yes, if both cost the same which is highly unlikely, then stay at the Pont Royal. L'Atelier de Joël Rubichon is in the Hôtel du Pont Royal so if you want a meal from one of the most upscale restaurants in Paris, it's right there -- note that I said upscale not best. From what I have seen of the lobby, that hotel is a luxury property that is a totally different class of hotel from Hôtel La Perle which is more of a budget property. It is a great hotel but not up to the level of finishes of the Pont Royal. I wonder if you mean Hôtel Port Royal and not Pont Royal. If you do mean Port Royal, La Perle is the better choice.

I have booked a room for October 11-20 at Hotel la Perle. No, Hotel Pont Royal and La Perle are not apples to apples. Hotel Pont Royal is much more expensive.
