Anyone Else’s United Travel Ready Still Listing Covid Reentry Test?

Hi All, I have a return flight to US on United next week and had a look at my Travel Ready app this morning and saw it was still listing the Covid 19 test on its list of pending required items to be Travel Ready. Can anyone reassure me that this will not be required by United? Why is it still listed? Can one still be officially “Travel Ready” without it? This is worrying to me. Thank you.

The requirement just changed 3 days ago. Give United a chance to update their software. This is not something to lose sleep over.

Hi Gabriel. The travel ready app reflected the change to the requirement the day before my flight out of Athens earlier this week. No need to worry 😊. Have a great trip!

One can travel without EVER touching the useless apps put out by the airline! So ignore it!

United's website told me 36 hours ago that I needed a negative COVID test to fly through Brussels to Oslo. I don't know whether it was Belgium or Norway that triggered that incorrect requirement. There was no problem at the airport--well, other than cosmetic damage to the only part of my suitcase where it would be obvious, the part that's not black.

Uploading the information and getting the boarding pass ahead means you don't end up in the long long line at the airport but in a 'travel ready line' -- we have flown to Paris twice in the last 9 mos with UA and also send a kid from Paris to the US and it made the check in process simple. Don't have it done ahead and stand behind 100 other people who also don't plan ahead.

WE had all sorts of problems with the UA site insisting my husband needed a test to fly TO Paris (he didn't) etc but it all eventually sorted out. They are not exactly on top of their web site issues.

It's not necessarily a matter of not planning ahead. I couldn't get the United website to accept any of my attempts to capture my passport. I had a decent scan sitting on my desktop computer, but there was no way to submit that; I had to use the camera on my phone, and glare was probably the issue. When I mentioned that problem to the agent at Dulles, he acknowledged that as a frequent issue.

With UA for passport scanning to avoid glare I place my passport by a window during daytime that does not get direct sunlight, the window should be to the side of the passport. use your cellphone to scan it. I found the perfect window in my house that works always. Cloudy days are even better. Just commenting as a tip.

I filled out the EU locator form before I left, otherwise I did nothing in advance of my departure (took off 6/7, arrived 6/8) through British Airways. Not one person from the airline or passport control asked us a single question about COVID. We had our vaccination cards ready to hand over, but we were never asked.

@Carol - if you want to check in online, you have to use those “useless” apps as you refer to them. That saves time at the airport and you may get a better seat assignment if you didn’t pay for one, but it is your choice. UA’s Travel Ready Center isn’t a separate app, rather, a link from the UA site or app.
