Any update on the Paris Museum Pass?

Just curious if there is any more info. on the pass, still not being accepted at the Louvre and other places? I see the website is still down.

As of yesterday (Sunday), the pass was not guaranteeing your admission to the Louvre. As of yesterday, entrance was still being denied to museum pass holders and the only way to guarantee entry was to buy advance timed tickets on the official Louvre website and those were selling out quickly.

I think if you can get to the Louvre at opening you can get in. That's what we did last week.

Well that makes clear that the new pass will not have the most useful features associated with it in the pass.
Perhaps they are trying to phase it out.

For those interested in visiting le Louvre this week, it appears that, due to very high attendance, Louvre tickets are sold out until Sunday, July 28th and that entrance is being limited to ticket holders only.

What the Louvre website states is that due to Forte affluence: le musée peut être complet or that due to strong demand, the museum may be full. Apparently, indeed the museum is full this week.

Am I missing anything? It looks like the main changes are:
The Paris Museum Pass grants 1 entry per site, whatever the duration of the pass.
*The fast-track aspect of the pass cannot always be guaranteed at certain sites that require the visitor to collect a free ticket in order to enter, or when there is a security check or restricted and limited access for security reasons.

The site then goes on to say access to the Louvre cannot be guaranteed.
This is SOOO sad. I loved breaking up my visit to the Louvre in several smaller time chunks so I could appreciate it more and of course fast trak was the main purpose of it.

The Louvre ticket was always good all day. Then tour groups from a country notorious for rude tourist behavior (no not the US) started re-using tickets for several tours and so now they have clamped down on making the ticket single entry. Not quite sure how they will manage this but it makes the Louvre experience suddenly much less pleasant. We always visited in the morning then took the afternoon off and then came back in the evening of the same day for two shorter visits rather than one death march.

Hi, I started another thread with this topic... didn't see this... check it out above for my update! I'm here in Paris with my 6-day pass and it is frustrating!

I wonder about the future of the Museum Pass. With their “big two” selling features (Louvre and Versailles) taking increased control over their own admissions/crowds, it may be that visitors will no longer see the value of the Pass. Comments from people in Paris right now support this scenario.

Perhaps that is why they are already taking steps to introduce tourists to the other passes which, compared to the old Museum Pass, are not as good value.

Re: the Paris Museum Pass, it says kids/youth under 18 are free, do you need to be an EU passport holder?

Re: Louvre and Versailles, what is the latest? Do we need to pick up tickets to each one seperate and is this timed?

All kids under 18 are free. I carried a copy of my kids' passports, but no one ever asked for confirmation of their ages.
