Any train/bus from Bordeaux to Paulliac / Bages

We are going to Bordeaux and wanted to visit Paulliac/Bages and some wineries. It seems the possible options are :

  1. take a van-group tour of wineries (but from reading the reviews, these are hit-and-miss, and costly)
  2. rent a car ourselves and choose some wineries and towns
  3. public transportation - trains or busses - but not sure what is available.

any advice appreciated.

There is a regular, but not very frequent, train service from Bordeaux to Pauillac, leaving every two hours in the morning and returning every hour from mid-afternoon. Consult the website of the SNCF.

Thanks. We are debating the options. Apparently there are a lot of van tours from Bordeaux center too.
