We are driving from Avignon to Moustiers de St. Marie and I did not want to drive by some wonderful little village or sight and not even know we passed it. Can anyone recommend some sights along the way?
Thank you,
Sherry
There is plenty to see, you will be driving through the Luberon, one of the most popular areas of Provence. Just to name a few villages; L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, Gordes, Roussillon, Saignon etc. These are just some of the most popular, there are plenty more and it has been discussed previously on this forum.
Thank you Morten, I will look back and see if I can find the other thread addressing this. thank you for your suggestions.
Yes, the area you're driving through is a prime portion of Provence. See the little map and other links at https://www.ricksteves.com/europe/france/provence.
Cotignac, and it's troglodyte caves, is worth a visit. I'm looking forward to a return visit in June.
Of the 5 villages L'Isle Sur La Morgue, Fontaine de Vaucluse, Gordes, Roussillon, and Saigon, which 3 would you pick to explore if you had to eliminate 2 for anything more than just driving through?
