I know French figs are very famous, I want to try different variety of them. Just not sure where to find them in Paris or the Loire.

It's still fig season throughout September, so most greengrocers or markets will have them. You won't really have to look for them. If you're lucky they'll have both the black (actually purple) and green varieties. The former are more common and usually sweeter.

This morning we were strolling down the Rue Daguerre market and I saw loads of beautiful black figs. Was very tempted to get some.
