My wife and I are headed to Antibes in a couple of days and would appreciate restaurant recommendations.
Hello -
We were very impressed with Momento Da Salvo for lunch. Excellent quality food, much of it (wine, wheat, olive oil) sourced from family properties in Italy.

On Sept 21, we had a great meal at La Guinguette, a restaurant we found in R. Steves France guidebook. We did make a 7 pm reservation by phone (mostly in english) the day of our evening meal. We were there about 5 minutes early, but there were already folks streaming in. We followed these diners through an empty restaurant to the back sunken courtyard, where tables were set around an old tree and everything was artfully lit. Our table was a couple of steps up from the center courtyard, a magical setting for our last dinner out in Antibes. We had the Sea Bass, which was good, but the Pavlova was fantastic!
I should mention that the couple ahead of us was turned away because they had no reservations.

OK, two other recommendations:
The first night in Antibes, we asked the lady at the front desk (Hotel Josse) for a recommendation for a restaurant that was close by.
She suggested Chez Mo - Albert 1er which is not quite in the old town area but near the Square Albert 1er park along the water. It was around 8pm, but they fit us in even though we didn't have reservations. This is a more classical French restaurant and the veal medallions with a potato side I had were good, although in hindsight, there were a lot of seafood options I would try if I ever return.
At the time, I had been driving a lot that day and did not want to have to think much about my menu choice.
The 2nd night we went to Le Golden Beef, nearer to old Antibes and right by musée d'archéologie. This was perhaps a more controversial choice, as it was a strange hybrid between a French and an American restaurant, but the patio location was great and within sight of the water, and we had a great time. They do focus on meat, especially steak, and 3 weeks into the trip, I was ready for a good steak. They do sell the steak by the gram with a minimum weight (200 gm?) which is a little weird, but the 220 gm beef tenderloin I had tasted great! In France, I order steak to be cooked "well done" because it invariably ends up medium, which is my preference. My wife had a Caesar dinner salad and a Mojito.
One of the best steaks I had in France.

When in a place such as Antibes, with a large harbor, we like to hang around the water around 7 pm and watch the people leaving their boats & heading to a restaurant for dinner. We figure they likely come to these towns frequently and have discovered restaurants with good food & fair prices.
So we follow them discreetly … and have discovered some great little restaurants around the Mediterranean over the years.
In Antibes they led us to Le Brulot. My husband ordered duck breast, I had fish. My meal was ok, his was spectacular. The duck breast is cooked in a wood oven and best served rare, like a steak. We had to return the next night so we could both order it.
This was years ago but Le Brulot is still in business & still known for their duck breast.
