We are taking a cruise at the end of October and we have 9 hours in Cannes. We aren’t much for ‘walking where the stars hang out’ so we want to go out of Cannes and see a more quaint, picturesque place. Who has travelled to Antibes and Nice to help with a comparison? Thanks!
You are right to get away from Cannes!
Antibes makes for a lovely day out and it is closer to Cannes, but it does not have the grandeur of Nice. 6-7 hours is perfect to visit Antibes, yet it barely scratches the surface in Nice. Do you want a city, or do you want a town? I would not use the word "quaint" to describe Nice, even old Nice.
Antibes will be smaller and has a nice old town and market and the Picasso museum. n. There are some nice vistas as well. It would make a nice day trip. Nice is going to be larger city, not as quaint, but picturesque in a different way.
Antibes is more quaint.; Nice has a quaint area (Vieux Nice or the old town) but more touristy.
