Another question re: train trip to Reims

Just another quick question:
I read tonight that the route from Paris to Reims involves taking the TGV train to Champagne Ardennes and then - it is necessary to take another train to reach Reims Ville.
So: when we purchase the tickets to Champagne Ardennes - do we purchase the connecting tickets to Reims Ville or do we need to purchase another ticket when the train arrives in Champagne Ardennes.
And, is the transfer straight forward or do we have to navigate another train station.

I have some concerns about arriving in a timely fashion for our tour - may opt to book an afternoon tour.

Thanks for your feedback!

There are direct TGV's to Reims without a connection at Champagne-Ardenne. Looking at next Tuesday, one at 7:23 taking 47 minutes, and one at 8:25 taking 46 minutes.

If you take the connection itinerary at 7:38, the connecting train is at the same Champagne-Ardenne station with a 22 minute connection time, getting you to Reims at 8:52.

Given that information, just buy tickets on one of the direct to Reims TGV's.

You buy one ticket from Paris to Reims. Your transfer is included.

If for some reason you do not find trains to Reims Ville (such as due to engineering works), there are streetcars from Champagne Ardenne TGV to downtown Reims. They only leave every 20 minutes or so, 30 on Sundays so not ideal, but a reliable backup option.

I had to transfer at Champagne Ardennes - it was easy. The local train was even waiting at the station, same platform.
