This time with Lucy Worsley from the BBC, she's quite a character and has made a niche for herself in British historical videos. This is a program about the current state of restoration. This has to be the third or fourth doc I've seen on this church, it's quite popular.
Notre-Dame Brûle camw out over spring and it was very well done. Not am uplifting film but a food account of what happened.
She is indeed quite a character but always very informative, I like watching her documentaries.
If in Paris you can do a virtual reality tour of the building and restoration of Notre Dame. You spend 45 minutes walking around the streets of 16th century Paris, rise up on a platform to view construction of the rose window and later up into the bell tower, see artisans at work, wander through the church itself and view the fire destruction from the top of the bell tower. Totally amazing experience. It is currently at la Defense.
I will definitely dial up Lucy Worsley's documentary if it is available to us when we are back in the US -- we have enjoyed her tours of British sites.
Thanks phred ! I love documentaries about the art and craft of construction , and this was a very good one . If you're interested , give this one a viewing . This is about the creation of stained glass windows for The National Cathedral in Washington , and goes into the detail of how windows like this are designed and created - https://youtu.be/HqJyK7DzBoM
