Annecy where to stay

Do you have a car or not?
A car is not really needed but, if you do not have one, you'll be better off staying in Annecy.
With a car, and with your interest in water activities, I would stay somewhere else along the lake shore: Talloires or Menthon-St-Bernard on the fancy eastern shore, or St Jorioz on the cheaper western shore (which has a busy road running through it so beware).
Accommodation availability is likely to be limited for late July already, so I suggest you just go to a booking website (or even Google Maps) and start from there!

We would like to go to Annecy after our My Way Alpine tour.

another question is how easy or not to go from Chamonix to Annecy then from Anncey to airport in Geneva ?
We have a 14:50 flight.

Annecy to Geneva Airport can be done either by train or by bus. Pretty easy by each route.

Depends on what view you want. If you want a view of the lake from on the lake I can't help you there. I stayed at Hotel du Chateau up the hill overlooking the town of Annecy and it had lovely views from the terrace. My room overlooked the parking lot but I'm sure they have rooms with a view also. It's a bit of an uphill walk coming back from town but nothing any normally healthy person can't do. I was 68 and out of shape when I was there and it was not a big issue. I really liked the hotel and it was the best budget option there. The hotels on the lake were a bit out of my range but maybe not for you.

I will take a look. I did a little research today and think maybe we might like bringing old town near the action.
Still trying to figure out taxi or best way to get from Annecy to Geneva Airport.

I have been there twice and stayed at Hotel du Palais de L'Isle, and Hotel du Chateau and both were great and centrally located and an easy walk to the lake.

Journeys from Annecy to Geneva by train use the Leman Express local rail service (although it isn't really an "express"). The bus service is route 272 (link in French) and I think there are also Flixbus services.
