Can anyone tell me the best way to travel from Annecy to Montreux? We are doing quite a lot of train travel and wondered how best to get from Annecy to Geneva- is there a train?

Allison, the German train website www.bahn.de shows a train journey to Montreux of almost 4 hours via Aix-Les-Bains, Geneva and Lausanne. 2-3 train changes along the way. Here's a snapshot of one of the runs. http://gyazo.com/f7ad4d19b138bcf3c3e5a7f325a594d0
Also, there are a few runs that include a bus and train. Still close to 4 hours. The French train website https;//en.voyages-sncf.com also shows 4.0hr journeys via Aix-Les-Bains and Geneva. They show only 2 train changes.

Right, there's no shortcut there, in the mountains. The web sites named above are your best schedule and route resources.
