I've planned to go stay in Annecy for four nights next June 25 - 29th. Recently, I told someone about my trip and they told me that they had a bad experience with tiny bugs, No-See-Ums. He said it was bad enough to ruin the time they spent in Annecy. I definitely don't want to spend four days batting away bugs. Is that a problem at times in Annecy and if so, when. I've searched for this topic can could not find anything. I'm also going to be on Lake Geneva and Lake Lucerne later on the trip; wondering if this is a problem on those lakes later into July?

Never noticed any specific mosquito problem in Annecy. Something that can happen, however, is swimmer's itch caused by duck fleas or other organisms in the lakes. The lakes are very clean, but sometimes you can get unlucky. Maybe that's what happened to your friend?
