Hello, my family will be visiting Chamonix for five nights in June; we will have four full days in Chamonix. We are big hikers so most of our excursions are planned around that. I'm debating if we can fill four days in Chamonix or if we should venture out for day trip sometime during our stay, perhaps to Annecy (open to other suggestions). Would appreciate thoughts from those who have traveled the area.
We spent 4 nights in Annecy and did a day trip to Chamonix. At that time, early post COVID there was little transport but we did find a BLA BLA BUS that got us there at 11 and returned at 3. I am sure that flixbus is probably running now as well as more frequent BlaBlas. It was a wonderful trip.
Like janettravels, we stayed in Annecy and ventured to Chamonix on a crystal clear beautiful day for the Aiguille du Midi and a to see the town. By car it was about an hour and a quarter. Annecy would be a nice change form Chamonix, it is more architecturally interesting and I would certainly recommend it over equidistant Geneva.
