And .. this morning, Gilets Jaunes blocking A10 north or Bordeaux

This is why I hesitate to give advice on anyone trying to get around ANYwhere right now . . .

The Gilets Jaunes have been blocking access to the autoroute north of Bordeaux this morning causing huge problems. Of course everywhere else it may be fine. But it's impossible to keep up with this stuff or know about it everywhere.

I don't think so. There's talk of a rail strike Friday.

Let me first say that I did no research so take the following however you prefer.

I logged on to the eurail site on Saturday to check reservation prices and there was a banner across the top of the screen that stated they were not taking reservations as there was a problem with the track. I then went on to find something else to occupy myself with since I have plenty of time to make these reservations. I have no idea if it was just debris on the track, a mechanical issue or what.

Suppose I should add from Paris to Lyon.
