Alsace Hotel Recommendations

Hi Everyone!

I will be in France from August 18th to 26th with my girlfriend and 16-year-old son. We would like recommendations for accommodations in the Alsace or Lorraine regions - preferably on a vineyard or farm perhaps. We would like a two-room suite if possible - either two bedrooms or one bedroom and a lunge / salon with a bed or sofa bed.

We have looked online at Le Close Saint Vincent (http://www.leclossaintvincent.com/en) in Ribeauville and it looks nice. But wondering if anyone has an experience there or in a similar place?

Thanks!

Frank

I liked Alsace a lot. It's not in the dramatic scenery category, more pleasant and bucolic. Great for hiking, if that tickles your fancy.
Have you considered renting a gite? Even if you have no intention of cooking, a gite would provide more space and privacy for the three of you, and probably cost less than a large suite in a nice hotel. We stayed on the outskirts of Riquewihr on the main road leading in from the south, but if you are looking for a winery stay then look at this chap's place: http://www.alsace-agape.fr/ Rent by the week.

We stayed at Domaine Jund in Colmar. Some would say budget accommodations but I thought they were clean, unique and full of character. Great breakfast, parking and onsite winery. Close walking to all the sights. For us (2 couples) it was a good home base for Alsace as at night there was lots to do. It's RS France.

Ribeauville is a very good location for exploring Alsace. Enjoy!

We are staying at Coté Cour Bischwihr Colmar in a couple of weeks. It gets high reviews and looks lovely. You can book it on booking.com. I will provide a review after our stay. I know they have a room with a double and twin, but I'm not sure about a two room arrangement. You could email them. You're traveling in high season so you might find your options are already limited.
