Hello,
I'm considering a ski trip to the French Alps next Christmas. Could anyone recommend a good guidebook? I love Rick, but he doesn't give much information at all on winter activities.
Thank you,

Thank you,
The only ones I know of are 35 years old.
Maybe try this one:

Thanks, I purchased the book you referenced. It's terrible, 14 point font with only general information.
I think that is the best you will find. Skiing in Europe for Americans is a very small market. Not enough to justify a detailed guide book, thus just general information guide books.
Try Meribel. It is in the center of the Trois Vallees, the largest interconnected ski area in the world. You can get a TGV to Brides-les-Bains, then a bus up to the resort.

You could look at the resort guides in snowmagazine.com (a British publication) at least for an initial selection of resorts to investigate more closely. Another option would be to sign up to snowheads.com (a British ski/snowboard discussion forum). The members there can offer personal recommendations on resorts, hotels, travel, etc. It also has a number of North American members, so you wouldn't be alone.
