Hello, I am planning a solo trip to Provence and looking for some guidance (I have never been). I will be coming down from a few days in Paris on September 16. I intend on renting a car at whichever train station I arrive at. I am flying home out of Nice on September 26. Originally had intended to spend some days on the coast but as I've researched more, I think I'd prefer to spend more time exploring the rest of Provence. I am not sure if I should do an overnight in a town near Nice before my flight or travel straight to the airport on the 26th, but I have either 16-26 or 16-25 to divide up.
Do you think I'd be better off staying in one place in the Luberon for all of these days, or should I divide my time between the western & eastern areas? For example:
September 16 to 18 or 19- Arrive Arles or Avignon, rent car there and stay in one place near Saint Remy/Eygalières/Les Baux...or maybe even Uzes?
September 18/19 to 25/26 - Stay in one place in the Luberon (thinking near Bonnieux/Loumarin/Saignon/Meneres). Will also do a day trip to Aix to see Cezanne's studio
or September 16-25 settled in one Luberon locale, do as many day trips as I can to the above places, and then drive towards somewhere convenient to Nice for an overnight.
Any thoughts appreciated!
