ha! No congrats to me, although you all are so kind. It was pretty wild hearing the ROAR behind my apartment -- you would think I lived next to the FanZone instead of way across town -- I don't know if there was some other gathering over here where people were concentrated or if it was just the collective sound of a bunch of celebrations but it was quite something.

I don't know anything about football but I admit I was surprised they beat Germany. People could use a bit of joy here, so why NOT win the Euro? That would be cool!

Such a contrast of course between the mood here today and that at home. It definitely is a bit disorienting switching between coverage of the victory and trip to the finals here with the shootings in Dallas, Minnesota, and Louisiana. I am just sick at heart about all of this murderous violence.

Yes, I'm sure that's a huge contrast. And the violence here is indeed sickening.

I'm so hurt Benzema isn't playing though. That's my boo!!!
