Fellow travelers,
We'll be in Paris on Sunday, Nov. 1 and had planned/hoped to pursue some museum viewing as part of the first Sunday free day offering. But I also understand that it is All Saints Day, and at least as of a few years ago, not much remained open on this holiday. Does anyone have a sense of what might be open or closed, and/or how I can find out?
Most French museums are open on public holidays as well as Sundays, and closed on normal Mondays or Tuesdays. I had a look at a few museum websites, however, and some of them will be charging admission on Sunday 1st November instead of offering the usual first day of the month free admission.
Check the museum's websites. You may have to search a bit.
Last year November 1st was a Saturday, and we'd done our museums earlier in the week. I was planning to go to the cookware shop E. Dehilleren, and had made sure they were open on Saturdays. When we got there, they were not open on All Saints Day. Ah, well, another reason to return to Paris. That was the only place we cared about that was closed. Most places were open.
If a museum you are interested in accepts the Museum Pass, you can find the links to their websites here. Just click on each museum in that page, and there is a direct link to the museum's own website: http://en.parismuseumpass.com/rub-m-by-name-5.htm
