Aix en Provence to Paris CDG

I will be taking Rick Steves tour in April that ends in Aix. I’m thinking of taking the train back to Paris. Are there multiple transfers? Anyone have experience doing this?

There are direct TGV (high speed train) lines from Aix to Paris. It takes about 4.5 hours.

TGV tickets go on sale 120 days in advance. I recommend purchasing them as quickly as possible to avoid higher prices.

Definitely go with the TGV train! The 3+ hour journey is direct, no transfers. The TGV station (which is how it's listed on the SNCF website) is a little way out of town but there is easy bus transit to the station as well as taxis. Do plan to arrive back to Paris at least the day before your flight home. IF you have the time and budget, spending a few days in Paris after your tour is fun!

Be sure to download the SNCF Connect app to your phone. Your ticket can be found on the app after you purchase it. Also I recommend doing a screenshot of the ticket and filing it either in your Notes app or in a separate Album in your photos section so it is easily found.

Tom Broadfoot,
You asked about trains to CDG Paris. Did you mean a train to the airport or Paris itself?
