Planning to drive from Aix-en Provence to Nice on May 8, 2014. It is a holiday-WWII Victory Day. Is there going to be bad traffic? Should we just take the train? Don't want to miss the sights in between. Wondering what to expect. Thanks

That's the first day of a four-day weekend. There'll be a lot of traffic but not insurrmountable.

The U.S. military cemetery in Draguignan, between Marseille and Paris, might make an appropriate stopping-point. The Mediterranean marine invasion gets overlooked.
