Looks like the train not best way as it goes to Marseille city first, then airport - almost 2 hours !, or am reading it wrong ?
Need to catch early flight to Frankfurt three home Toronto.
Will have dropped off rental car already
Hi Jim,
There is a shuttle bus connecting the Aix-en-Provence bus & train stations with the Marseilles airport every 30 min. costing about 8 euros. You can buy tickets online or from the driver. See this webpage for details:
https://www.marseille-airport.com/access-car-parks/access/bus/aix-en-provence
Are you leaving from Aix center? The Aix en Provence bus station Gare Routière is just a few blocks from the Aix city center train station. I know an Air France pilot who lives in the Aix-en-P area and uses the bus to go to work, so very reliable service.
Thanks much
I think we will return the car at the airport
Yes, if you can return the car the next morning it will be more convenient, the drive from Aix-en-Provence is easy before 7.30 AM (lots of traffic after, beware). A car in Aix is useless but you can park it at the "Rotonde" carpark for instance, and have a very easy way in and out of town.
My wife and I took bus line 40 from the gare routiere in Aix to the Marseille airport last June. It was inexpensive, comfortable, and only took about 30 minutes. They depart about every 30 minutes, as I recall.
Just a point of info. The Marseille Airport (MAR) isn't IN Marseille, its in Marignae. Marignae is only about 15 Miles South-West of Aix-en Provence. :)
