I will in staying in Aix en Provence for two nights prior to taking a river cruise (from Avignon to Lyon). I will have free time on the afternoon of Saturday June 22 and am thinking of taking a 1/2 day tour of the lavender fields. I saw several that leave Aix at 2pm. Do I need to book in advance or are these tours generally available to book on arrival in Aix? Also, I’m not opposed to hiring a private driver for a few hours, is that something that would be available last minute?

About 1.5 hours from Aix, at Le Chateau Du Bois, there are Lavender fields as far as the eye can see.
