Hi
What are the options for getting from CDG to a small hotel in the area of the Tower? We will have at least 2 large and 2 small suitcases and backpacks. It would be nice to travel together.
Thanks.
Presume you mean the Eiffel Tower..
I’d take a taxi.
Does your accommodation have a shuttle?
Taxi rates between the airport and the city are fixed. If your hotel is near the Eiffel Tower, the cost for a taxi for four people and luggage will be €62.
Make sure to follow the TAXI signs once you exit baggage claim and go to the official taxi rank. Do not let anyone approach you in the terminal to take you to a taxi. Go to the official line.
Check out NAVECO - a car service that was less expensive than a taxi.
Get a taxi from the official line -- it is well marked; ignore anyone who offers you a taxi; get in line and the dispatcher will put you in a van cab when you reach the head of the line -- or if necessary call one up for you. 55 if you are across the river from the Tower, 62 if on the tower side of the river. No risk of a late plane disrupting plans or being told 'we were there and you weren't and so we keep your money.' WE have done this many times; it is easy and efficient.
Thanks
I wasn’t sure if a taxi would fit all of us and our luggage. I found Bolt as a ride hailing service. I’ll have to check out the other that was mentioned.
I vote with Kim and Janet on getting a taxi which will have a fixed rate. IF you have too much stuff for a regular taxi, the line manager will call up a larger vehicle. He will motion you to step off to the side and wait while a bigger one comes up from the holding area.
Keep in mind that official taxis can use the bus lanes whereas Uber/Bolt/etc cannot. You will never be able to find the Uber/Bolt driver at CDG as they cannot use the official taxi pick up area.
Interestingly I was reading a post on a FB page for Delta Skymiles people. Someone mentioned they paid 100E for a taxi from the airport to Paris. He apparently did not do any research to see there is a fixed rate for official taxis and got taken by a non-official transport option.
They will have a taxi that all your staff will fit in. Unless you’re moving to Paris and bringing steamer trunks😂
Some people just apparently think that the thing to do is always use a ride share service because it’s so much better to walk a longer way to your ride and sit in traffic because we can’t use the bus lanes like taxis can
Seriously follow the little blue footsteps on the floor to the taxi stand. Ignore the nice man who tells you he’s going to get you a deal he will rip you off. I recently saw a YouTube video where they talked about someone about €300 for a ride. But they were smarter than the average bear didn’t go to the taxi stand. 😂
Sounds like the vote is for the prearranged ride service. When we fly out we are going to Vienna - how early should we be at the airport for a flight?
Thanks.
