airport shuttle from DeGaulle

This question is for travelers with experience flying to DeGaulle airport and staying in Paris.

We are staying at a hotel in Paris which says it has a shuttle from DeGaulle airport. Does anyone have any experience with such a shuttle? What information/advice can you give us regarding the shuttle from DeGaulle? Thanks so much for any info or advice you can provide.

Contact your hotel now to see what their shuttle set-up is - hours, location, how to book.

This sounds like a (potentially expensive) private transfer. First, I would find out the cost from your hotel, and then compare against alternatives like taxis and public transit.

I stayed at the hotel londres de Eiffel and I arranged for a shuttle through them to and from CDG. through a third party and the hotel arranged it. It was 60 euro each way and I was met at the exit of the airport and taken directly to the hotel and the shuttle picked me up at the hotel at 5:00 am oN the day I left. For me, it was worth the 5 extra euros to use this service. After traveling for over 13 hours, I don't want to deal with taxis, trains etc. But that is just me and how I like to travel.

Paris hotels don't have shuttles. If you were offered one, it was to hook you up with a commercial shuttle. We just walk out to the official taxi line and take the taxi we are assigned when it is our turn. We have never had bad luck with this. Ignore anyone who approaches you, even in the line, for a taxi. The dispatcher at the head of the line will put you in an official taxi Parisien. 50 to the right bank; 55 to the left.

There is no need or advantage for a shuttle now that taxis have flat rates. You are likely to spend much more for a shuttle than for a regular taxi, which can take up to 4 people - as Janet says, 50 euros to right bank, 55 euros to left bank. 4 euros per person more for every person above four people.

A shuttle is a rip-off now.

Then there's the train, the RER B which is only 10 euros each way. Easy to get tickets for it at CDG and easy to find the platform.
I've used it for the last 3 trips I taken to Paris and it's always been great. Returning to CDG, just buy your tickets at the Metro station closest to your hotel, then transfer from the Metro to the RER B at one of the connecting Metro stations, and you're all set. Of course, I travel very light so I only have one carry-on bag to deal with.

I've used both Paris-Shuttles and parishuttles. I've never had a bad experience and I've used them about 10 or 12 times. Some people on here will tell you they're notoriously horrible, but I've always had an enjoyable experience. Mostly because whenever I use them I stay in the Faubourg-Montmartre area, an area that is usually the first area dropped off while those going to another quarter have a longer ride. I'm usually a single traveler, and because I speak French the drivers tend to chat me up because most of the customers don't speak French.
