Airport restaurants

When we arrive at cdg in the morning, we will either have a quick dash to the train station and make the 10:00 tgv, or we will narrowly miss it and have to wait 2 hours for the next one to Arles. Is there anyplace good to eat in terminal 2 near the train station? Or some kind of market to pick up some picnic items? I'd hate for our first meal in France to be cruddy airport food!

Wow. You are really counting on customs and immigration to be fully staffed. You are a long way from a TGV station. Is it not too late to change your train booking. You can find decent, not great, food in all of the Paris train station.

George, I'm not sure what you see as the problem. We arrive at 8:10 at terminal 2, aren't checking luggage, and are leaving from the train station at cdg terminal 2 on a 12:00 train. That's almost 4 hours. There is a 10:00 train as well that we may try to make (purchased flexible tickets) but only if we have great luck with arriving on time, passport control, etc. Am I missing something here, or did you possibly misread my question?

Unfortunately, you are just going to have to postpone the fine dining until you get to Arles. It will be worth waiting for.
Have a look at this website - there are 5 subsets for "terminal 2", so not sure which one you'll be using - you should check for this, because CDG is huge. Click on "airport information" then "shopping, restaurants":

You won't have time to go to a "real" restaurant until lunch time, which is between 12h and 14h30. But there's some fairly decent food in the subsets of terminal 2 - Caviar House/Prunier Seafood, the two Guy Martin restaurants, Exki (healthy), Paul and the Lebanese place. Starbucks and many other snack places sell fresh fruit and sandwiches. If you had 4 hours, you could get in a taxi and try to find someplace better, but I don't think it would be worth the trouble and probably not time-efficient.
