Hi Nick,
I have been looking for airfares from SFO to Paris for June and they are pretty high, didn't want to take a detour to Istanbul on Turkish Air but am thinking of XL France, they fly nonstop from SFO to Paris and really cheap. There are a lot of complaints about them, late, small seats, uncomfy etc. but have had friends that thougtht it was ok and worth the incovenience.
You might check them out.

Aer Lingus will stop in Dublin which is pretty much a direct line between Paris and San Fran. Turkish changes in Istanbul, which is 3 1/2 hours beyond Paris. Also on the return, who will need to spend the night in Istanbul. So unless you want to spend some time in Turkey, that low airfare comes at a cost of your time, and some money for the hotel in IST (unless you want to spent the night sleeping on the floor in the airport).
Turkish is pretty highly rated, but I would give it a pass for this itinerary.

I am also interested in reviews of Aer Lingus. We are looking at the Germany, Austria, Switzerland tour in June and have seen Aer Lingus as the cheapest flight. Prices jumped by almost $500 per ticket from December to January from OKC to London Heathrow! That's really putting a damper on our travel budget. Any reviews of Aer Lingus would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi. I have had limited though positive experience with Aer Lingus. In summer of 2008 (or maybe 2009), I used all my BA frequent flyer miles to fly business from PHL to LHR. I spent some time in the UK, but mostly in Ireland - only about a week. I needed to find a carrier that would not break the bank with exorbitant one-way charges. Aer Lingus provided the opportunity to fly one-way Dublin to JFK for about half of a RT ticket - not something most airlines offer.

My memory of that flight is that passengers and staff were exceptionally cheerful and friendly. There was lots of conversation and laughter - not the typical economy flight, in my experience. That might not be much for you to go on, but I always check Aer Lingus when making plans flying to and from Europe. I am pretty sure I used them to fly from France or Italy to LHR one time, too, but cannot recall the specifics.
