Airlines

Ever traveled on air of France? Would it matter between this one or delta? Only like to go direct flight as I travel alone . Like to only have to find way around one unknown airline

Delta and Air France are code-share airlines. It's the same flight but with different numbers for each airline involved. It looks like Air France operates the non-stops between Houston and Paris. So you would be on an Air France plane. The good news is that it is a Boeing 777 both directions. The price seems to be the same regardless of which airline you book with.

Leaving at 4:05 pm as Delta 8667/Air France 639 from Houston IAH and arriving Paris CDG at 8:30 am the next day. Coming back to Houston, it's Delta 8657/Air France 636, leaving Paris CDG at 10:30 am and arriving Houston IAH 2:00 pm the same day.

We fly Delta a lot to Europe, and from Tucson, we have to go somewhere else in the US (like Atlanta) to get to a Delta departure point to take a Delta plane. You would have to do the same if you want to fly on a Delta plane.

But are you going to Paris? And do you mean finding your way around one unknown airport instead of airline?

I think Air France is a very good airline, just make sure that they aren't going on strike!

Delta, AirFrance and KLM are intertwined corporately as well as being code share partners.. KLM and AirFrance combined into one corporate group but maintains separate identities. KLM and Northwest had some kind of joint venture as did Feltts and Air France.

I have had Delta or KLM bookings with code share flights operated by Delta outbound via AMS returning on a flight operated by Air France via CDG to SEA.

KLM and Air France mergers in 2004. forming a holding company incorporated under French law. KLM and Air France are wholly owned subsidiaries of the Air France -KLM holding company.

Delta and Northwest merged in 2008 forming a new Delta incorporated under US law operating as Delta.

The KLM Northwest joint venture as and the Air France Delta joint venture combined into today's joint venture relationships. Good to know that they are all working together.

My last trip to Paris (in 2013) was on Air France / KLM and it was great.

In recent years I've flown Air France, KLM and Delta trans-Atlantic out of Detroit and Air Canada and Lufthansa from Toronto. In economy, the cabin service is about equal. Delta handles all the on-the-ground services in Detroit for that group-of-three airlines. AF has a better selection of international films; KLM's cabin staff are a little more hearty; Air Canada's staff have become much more skilled at handling the details than was true 20 years ago. Price is the big difference these days, and all these airlines seem to charge premium rates for non-stops. Convenience and length of layovers also comes into my calculations.
