I really would not obsess over the 90 day limit.
I think Tocard is offering good advice here, not to obsess over the 90 day limit imposed on owners. The issue is not my chief concern.
I stay in hotels for other reasons, particularly for the onsite, front desk management for any issues that crop up. With an AirBnB or other rental, you are typically renting a unique, n=1 property; if there is a problem with the house or apartment, and it is difficult to get the owner or his rep to rectify the problem, you are pretty much stuck with the problem.
On a stay in a Paris hotel a few years ago, there was a sudden overhead water leak in the bathroom of our room that was quite dangerous due to electrical outlet exposure. Management moved us to another room, problem solved in under an hour...I have other examples...it happens...
