Air France Premium Economy vs United Premium Plus-San Francisco to Paris

I have a fair amount of long haul flying experience with United Premium Plus.
How does the Air France Premium compare?

My primary concern is seat comfort and avoiding middle seats.
Meal quality isn't a major issue. Neither is the almost useless amenity bag.

Air France has duo seat option in basic economy, but the seats looks small.

I could have sworn I replied to this question earler.

What type of aircraft is your flight on? It can make a difference. If you go to the AeroLOPA website and click Air France then fhe type of aircraft, it will show the seating plan, seat category description, and photos.

In 2023 we splurged to fly seven of our family to France on Air France, getting premium economy seats. We all were very happy with the seats, legroom, comfort and service. It was definitely a big step up from regular economy. The seat configurations were 2-4-2. (We have flown business class once, RT from LAX to Santiago Chile, a few years ago. That was super, but we were able to pay with miles.) It will be hard to go back to regular economy after premium econ. I haven't flown on United premium plus, so cannot make a comparison. I would definitely go with AF premium econ. again.

I agree that the type of plane can make a big difference. A few years ago, I posted about two very different experiences on Delta Premium Comfort. The outbound flight on an older A330 was disappointing to say the least, whereas the return flight on a 767 was terrific.

We're flying Air France premium next week on an A350-900, while the return is KLM premium on a 787. Here are links to a couple of YouTube reviews of the Air France A350 premium.
