Air France operated by Amelia International

We just received an email from Air France stating our May flight from Nice to CDG will be operated by Amelia International.

This is the disclaimer:

“The on-board service corresponds to the standards of regular airlines but may differ from the service offered on Air France flights.”

Has anyone else experienced this?

Air France code shares and has.contracts with
Amelia International which has been around since 2019. Before then, the company was known as Aero4M, a Slovenia-based charter airline that started back in 2008. The airline’s planes and crews supplement Air France’s fleet, mostly on domestic routes. The notice you received from Air France is only surprising because it names an airline few have heard of.

Maybe naming it “Air France Express” would have made more sense.

Air France's low cost express arm is Air France Hop, formerly styled as HOP *!*

Thank you all, when I initially saw the email I thought it was for our long haul flight not the regional Nice-CDG flight.

There could be many reasons.....pilot shortage, scheduling of routine maintenance, training, etc. It's done by numerous airlines.

Last year, on Loganair, the Scottish Airline, one of my flights was operated by a Swedish company. Loganair was in the process of getting rid of one type of aircraft for another and the crews had to be trained. So Loganair contracted out to the Swedish company to operate some of their services using Swedish crews and planes.

It's a short flight and I wouldn't be concerned.

Amelia is the commercial name of a French company "Regourd Aviation", created in 1977.
And yes, the name is a tribute to Amelia Earhart, the American aviator.

It has been operating in codeshare on domestic routes with Air France for 3 years.

I've been on at least one Amelia-operated flight. It was perfectly fine. Regular Air France service on those routes is just a drink and a packaged snack or small sandwich, anyway - nothing to write home about!
