my wife and i are flying from san francisco in september, and aer lingus has a good rate with no baggage fees. how are their planes for comfort and service, and recommendations about flying with them? tx, nick from santa cruz
We flew Aer Lingus from Boston to Dublin two years ago, and thought it was perfectly nice. It's not as nice as something like Air France or British Airways, but our seats were comfortable, there were personal TV units in all the seats, the food was fine, the service good, etc. No free booze. I would definitely fly with them again.
Flown with them several times when they went out of Newark and once out of JFK and thought they provided good service, flight attendants were really good. Don't remember anything about the food though.
I flew with them on a trip to Spain. I liked the flights, good in flight entertainment, no complaints.
I've flown them several times to and from Ireland. The flights were comfortable, the food was decent, and there was plenty of entertainment. I would fly with them again.
We are also looking at Aer Lingus, looking at 12/18 returning 1/1. While it seems we can book flights through a consolidator (cheapoair and others) Aer Lingus does even show the rates for those dates. Does anyone have experience with booking directly through Aer Lingus - how far in advance are you allowed to book? Or Aer Lingus but through a consolidator? The rates are good and we're concerned they may go up if we wait too long. Any advice or suggestions?
I always book directly with Aer Lingus. Maybe you are trying to book too far out?
Thanks, Nancy, I think you're right. It is 9 months out. It's a family trip and there are 8 of us so I wanted to get things settled early. I'll try to be patient a while longer.
