We arrive Barcelona morning late October planning to pick up car in Carcassonne next day. Thought overnight in Narbonne would be a good rest stop after long flight. Does anyone have info on a B&B within walking distance of Train Station? Otherwise a moderately priced hotel? Thanks.

Are you also planning to sleep in Carcassonne? Taking the train all the way to Carcassonne only adds half an hour more train time on your arrival day. If the 18:35 evening departure works for you, it goes direct to Carcassonne, without needing to connect in Narbonne.

Thank you, Laura. Choose Narbonne because we could get our car at train station. In Carcassonne, only available at airport. However, we might be better served to take the 5 + hour train ride(we don't want to hang out in Batcelona until the 5 :19 train) and spend the night in Carcassonne. Possibly
Public transportation to airport.

OK, I understand that plan. My first response was actually going to be to suggest picking up the car in Narbonne, if you were staying there (since you wrote Carcassonne in the original question).

Did you ever find a B&B within walking distance of the Train Station in Narbonne? I am going in April, and plan on driving there from where we are staying in Provence, drop the car at TGV station and take train to Barcelona. Thanks.
