Advance train tickets needed for travel from Nice to other Riviera towns?

Hi -- got lots of train help today for my longer distance journeys from Nice to Avignon and Avignon to Paris. (Booked!). My dates and times and locations are not as set for my plans to travel around the Riviera -- to Cannes, Menton, St. Paul de Vence, etc. (I know some of these are by bus, too.).

Do these need to be advance purchases, or can they be day off? I have one short trip I may do now a bit further north -- Avignon to Arles and back -- just because I am leaving for Paris the same night and need to make sure I get back in time to get my bags, etc. But was hoping to delay a bit on the other short trips. Do they sell out?

EDIT: I actually might prefer to buy the Avignon to Arles tickets day of as well. I'm pretty sure about leaving first thing in the morning for Arles, but not sure how long I will want to stay. Is this a big gamble?

This is for the very end of June/ beginning of July.

I just purchased those short trips the day before I was taking the train and on the travel day when I was taking the bus.

the train that runs along the coast is public transport -- it doesn't sell out -- buy tickets ahead for convenience or at the station when you travel.
