Accommodations in Lille

Hi,
I'm trying to decide between three places in Lille for three nights at the end of July.

Aparthotel Adagio Lille Centre Grand Place at 76 Rue De L Hopital Militaire, Lille Centre Ville
LITTLE PLAZA Appart'Hotel at 9 rue Ropra, Vieux Lille
Hôtel Saint Maurice @ 8 Parvis St Maurice, Lille Centre Vill

Does anyone have any opinions about these areas? The first one has air so it is more expensive. Usually I don't care so much about air but with the recent heat wave I'm rethinking it. But the area is probably the biggest thing. If there is an area that is preferred, I can look in that area for a hotel or Airbnb.

Thanks!

the first one not only is air conditioned, but in the absolute best spot. I would go for it.

I'd also consider staying somewhere within walking distance of the old town or the main train stations if you're only there for a couple of days. It makes getting around much easier, and Lille is a really pleasant city to explore on foot.

Haven’t been yet but I reserved the Adagio Grand Place for a week in January of ‘27. I think it’s a good location and I found a lot of positive reviews.

Bonjour,

@IggyStooge: am a Rick Steves Europe France-based guide.
I used to live in Lille. When I visit, I always stay at the Aparthotel Adagio Lille Centre. Not only is the location fabulous (within walking distance of la Grand' Place) there's also a supermarket a couple of blocks away.
The units are clean and well equipped, with your own little kitchen.
I've never tried their breakfast buffet as I prefer to make my own.
Book with confidence. This property offers great value for money.
Note the Lille Flandres train station is about a 15-minute walk away.
Lille Europe (TGV hub) is a little bit further out.

Bonjour Veroniques, woohoo, thanks for affirming. The only problem I have now is that I'm still in the States and would rather be there!

Btw, the day we return to the Brussels airport is a Sunday, so the big market is that day in Wazemmes. I thought it would be a great place to maybe get some art from a local artist before we return to the States, but the more I read about it I'm not sure if it is worth it. We can't buy any fresh food since we are leaving and the outdoor market doesn't sound like it caters to artists. Do you have an opinion on that?

Thanks again to this great community!
