Accommodations in Bayeux

We will be in Bayeux early October for 1 night. Several of the recommended hotels (e.g. Hotel Churchill) are not available. We have an opportunity to stay at the Hotel de Sainte Croix or the Ranconniere. Does anyone have first-hand experience with either of these hotels? The Sainte Croix is considerably less expensive than the Ranconniere which isn't always a good thing!

We stayed at the Hotel de Sainte Croix in June (2015) and it was one of our favorite B&Bs on a three-week trip to France. The breakfast is magnificent and the location is great. The bathroom was HUGE. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Sorry don't have experience with either of your options. However, this is the B&B we used: La Tour Louise which turned out to be fantastic. There are many places to stay in the area and this one got great reviews and was not as expensive as places like the Churchill. La Tour Louise is run by an older Mom/Dad plus younger (30s or so) son. The son bent over backwards to help us with anything/everything we needed. I highly recommend this place:

We stayed four nights at the Hotel de Sainte Croix this past June. Loved it! Spacious, spotless, comfortable rooms (yes, huge bathrooms) and a kind and helpful owner. She made dinner reservations for us (our favorite: Au Ptit Bistro...fabulous), as well as arranging a taxi. The breakfasts were wonderful and included different homemade baked goods each morning. We felt it was a great value and recommend it highly.

My group of 8 stayed in Hôtel d'Argouges - we had 4 rooms and it was perfect. Locations was great for walking all around Bayeux. When I was there I walked past the Hotel Churchill and I think our choice was much better.
Best of luck

We've stayed at Hotel d'Argouges at least 6 times... we love this hotel. Big rooms and bathrooms, beautiful gardens, lots of flowers, wonderful breakfast included, free parking, lovely owners and staff, in the heart of town yet very quiet.
