Accommodation in Paris near Sunday markets

We will arrive in Paris on a Sunday morning (about 8) in late August. We will stay Sunday (+ possibly Monday) night with another few nights late the following week. I want to get to a market or two after dropping off luggage at accommodations.

I would appreciate market or accommodation (low to mid $) recommendations. I presume we will take a taxi from the airport.

Thanks!

There are Sunday markets throughout Paris, so where are you going afterwards? It might make sense to stay close to the train station from where you'll leave, if you take a train.
Also, do note that the vast majority of markets start to wind down by 1-1.30pm.

The first area that comes to mind is the part of town between Bastille and Gare de Lyon. Marché d'Aligre is in the area, and that's really one of the most popular markets in Paris, with both a street market and an indoor market. It is also very convenient if you happen to have to take a train at Gare de Lyon afterwards!

There is also a large market under the metro near La Motte Piquet in the 15th arrondissement, which is not very central but close to the Eiffel Tower and to Montparnasse station.

Also of note, a market of organic produce on Boulevard Raspail in the 6th.

The list is far from exhaustive! Have a look at the city's website using a translation tool as needed.

There is a huge Sunday market on rue de la Convention in the 15th, but as balso points out, markets are wrapped up by 13h00. If you arrive at 08h00, by the time you negotiate immigration and other arrival formalities, get to a hotel, then to a market it will be close to 11h00, probably later; not a great deal of time for shopping. Most of what is available is food or groceries. If you are leaving Paris the next day, are you provisioning for the next leg of your vacation?

For any meaningful hotel recommendation, you need to specify your budget window in euros and offer some broad guidance as to where you want to stay.

there are big markets every day in Paris except Monday -- in different areas. For example the August Blanqui which I think is among the best is open Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. There are alsobig market streets like Mouffetard and Rue Levis open every day except Monday.

Or are you thinking about the flea markets. The biggest one qt Clingencourt is open on Saturday and Sunday morning.

Thank you everyone for your comments. We think we'll pick up a car in Reims (not reserved, yet) for our drive to Luxembourg City. (need to arrive early afternoon on Tuesday). We'll need a car there, and on to Germany. Not sure if we'll try to get to Reims in time for sightseeing on the way, or if we should save it for our return. RS said there is baggage storage available.

I'm thinking maybe we should use both Sunday and Monday to catch what we can in Paris and head out early Tuesday to Luxembourg, planning to catch Reims, and maybe Metz on our return through the following week. Maybe it's better to catch a few must sees in Paris in case we have some unexpected events (Covid or?) and can't experience the city much the last days of our trip.

I was thinking primarily of flea/vintage/collectibles markets---not high end antiques, as I understand food markets are more plentiful throughout the week.

Thank you for the reality check on the market closures. I hadn't noticed they closed so early in the afternoon.
