Stayed at one of Ricks recommended places, Grand Hotel Leveque in the Rue Cler area 10 years ago, and it was an ideal spot., close to the Eiffel Tower. Has anyone been there recently and know if it's still ok or can recommend something similar in the area please? We will be there first week of July this year.

We have stayed in two hotels in the Rue Cler area: the Londres Eiffel and the Hotel du Champs de Mars. Both hotels are nice, but the Champs de Mars was much less expensive.

Grand Hotel Leveque has gotten as expensive as other, far better options in the vicinity. Hotel du Champ de Mars is a great, lower cost choice. It fills up pretty quickly, so if you know your dates, you'd better get on with making reservations. There are, however, plenty of other great hotels in this neighborhood.

Hi Raewyn, we've enjoyed our stays at the Hotel Empereur. It's in your target neighborhood, right across the street from Napoleon's Tomb. I like the area and I love being able to walk over to see the Eiffel Tower illuminated every night.
