I saw in earlier posts on this forum that the queue to enter the Versailles palace can be avoided by entering from the Ore restaurant.
Is this still the case?
If so, is it necessary to purchase the palace entry tickets through the Ore restaurant option for lunch + palace entry?
My family and I have already purchased tickets to visit the Versailles palace on Thursday, September 26. We would also like to eat lunch in the Ore restaurant around 12:30. Our tickets are for an entry time to the palace of 2:00.
Will we be able to enter the palace directly from the restaurant after eating? If so, do we need to go through security for entering the palace before we enter the restaurant? Do we therefore need to change our entry time to earlier, say 12:00, if we want to eat in the restaurant at 12:30?
Or will we need to leave the restaurant and go through the queue before entering the palace?
I spoke with someone at the palace and he was not sure about this. I sent an email to the Ore restaurant but got no reply, and when I tried to call them I could not understand the options (in French) in order to get someone on the phone. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
