My daughter is getting married in Paris in July — a very small affair with about 15 people total. For months the plan was to have our symbolic ceremony in the gardens at Notre Dame. Does anyone know if the gardens are again open to the public since the fire?
For sentimental reasons proximity to ND is very important to the couple.
Not possible. Here is a map of where access is currently blocked off

I wonder if you could rent a boat and have the ceremony on the Seine?
Jazz travels- Thanks for the map. Very helpful. I had also wondered about the square on the other side of the bridge. Apparently it is still open. We’ve also considered the part across the river that’s by the Shakespeare bookshop. If anyone has opinions about those locations that would be helpful.
The Hotel Dieu hospital, which is on the left when you are on the parvis facing Notre Dame, has a large, beautiful Italianate garden just inside, which could serve as a wedding locale, if it is permitted. Most unique locale ever. You will be the envy of your friends.
Of course not. This area is where they are staging building materials; the Cathedral will be off limits for years.
Paris is full of lovely parks. for plan B.
The hotel dieu garden is delightful -- we have visited it many times. Given the fact that its facade opens on the square in front of the Cathedral, I suspect it would be problematic for an event but you could ask.
The Square René Viviani looks like a close one with a good view of the Cathedral. I suspect your group will not be the only one to have found this viewpoint so it may be very busy .
