AC Hotel Nice Pros/Cons

Hello-
I am going to Nice and surrounding areas at the end of July 2026.
I am looking for a hotel with a pool as will likely be very hot when we are there.

I reserved the AC Hotel Nice, 59 Promenade des Anglais, Entree Rue Honoree Sauvan for 7 nights.

Has anyone stayed here and can give me advice? Is it walkable to the train station and local attractions, restaurants, etc?

I realize it is part of the Marriott group and likely not a quaint, small French hotel like many of the other options in Nice.

I would love your advice. Thank you.

I have not stayed there but am familiar with the immediate area because we have friends that live nearby and have been to group events in the local area. It is very much a local neighborhood.

It may be a bit far to walk to the train station and even further to the Old Town (especially in the heat), especially after touring all day. But there is a tram stop for line 2 (and 3) two blocks away. That line does not go directly to the station, but you can transfer at Jean Medecin or walk the remaining distance. There is a bus line where you can pickup up Line 12 that runs to the Old Town and minibu/navette 99 that goes from Gambetta to the train station (but 99 ends early at 7pm and has a stupid pause in the return loop at Jean Medecin). The restaurants immediately surrounding the hotel are not that great, although there is a branch of a local boulangerie across the large intersection. A few blocks away to the east and north there are many more restaurants and cafes (like Cave Washington, Dante, La Chamade), and then many more (including top choices) as you head down Rue de France to the east and north into the Carre d'Or (as general rule, not on Rue de France/Rue Massena)
