A wonderful hotel find in senlis

Every once in a while, you will stumble on to an exceptional experience. In looking for a village outside Paris, but close to Charles Degaulle to stay in, rather than the airport hotels, I came across cote jardin. In senlis. 20 minutes by bus to the airport. Senlis is a medieval town and cote jardin is a 17th century mansion inside the old city. You enter through a non-descript gate on the street (electronically controlled) and enter the courtyard and suddenly you are transported to an earlier, elegant time. The guest rooms are actually large suites with very tasteful furnishings. (The owner Francine is also a decorator). There are gardens and a pool on the premises. Francine is very personable with hands -on all details. Breakfast was very good, cooked and prepared by Francine.

We only had one night, but if I go back to Paris , I will stay here and take the train and bus into the city every day we are there, plus there is lots to do and see in that area (chantilly is the next town)
Amazingly, it was about 100€ a night.

Sounds great, what’s the name of this hotel?

How long does it take to get to Paris by train and bus?

Residence is called cote jardin. Found it on hotels.com, but I would contact Francine directly. Her English is good and I think you will like dealing with her directly
The train we took was from gard de nort to chantilly. About 25 minutes. Then catch bus 100 yards from train station to senlis. 15 minutes. Then walk to cote jardin 5 minutes. But down cobblestone streets. Past cathedral. Know the address. Entrance is door in wall

City bus to cdg is 20 minutes. Taxi easier, but we don’t do easy

Francine very accommodating Took us to city bus station for trip to airport. Will tell you good restaurants in walking distance we found bistro senlis. Really good, reasonable pricing and great server. I think all her suggestions would have been great

Bottom line, you are out of metro and prices drop , experiences are fun, people are more down to earth
