A little Jazz

We are not late night people, but enjoy good jazz in informal settings. Staying in the 7th around Rue Cler, are there suggestions for us to go out in the early evening....preferably minimal smoke?

If you enjoy jazz manouche (Gypsy Jazz), go to Le Bouquet du Nord on a Friday evening. Music starts at 7. Someone described the restaurant as a "no-frills experience," and that's true, but we had a decent meal and heard some good music up close and personal.
