A few questions about taxis between CDG and Paris

My daughters and I will be flying to France in a few weeks. If we want to take a taxi from CDG to our hotel in Paris, do standard taxis at the airport have sufficient room in the trunk for several suitcases? Or should I book a shuttle?

Also, when we need to return to CDG for our flight back to the States, is it better to take Uber from Paris or a taxi?

Not sure there are even shuttles and they were always terrible.

Surely two people will not be carrying more suitcases than a taxi can handle. Unless you are carrying work materials or massive gifts for relatives or something like that, figure out how to get by on one no more than 25 inch suitcase and a backpack or similar for carry on each . Learned this the hard way.

A regular taxi should be able to hold two people's luggage, but if you have too much there are van cabs at the airport and you can let the dispatcher know you need one. You might have to step aside with your luggage while one is summoned but there are lots at the airport.

There is a fixed price for up to 4 people from CDG 56 to right bank and 65 to left. No other fees.

When ready to return call the G7 English speaking taxi line two days ahead and book a cab letting them now if you need a large cab. I have done this a couple dozen times and they usually ask about cab size and have always been completely reliable. They show up about 5 minutes before the time you booked. We book 4 hours before our flight and are always there 3 hours before for the check in, emigration and security process.

Op mentioned daughters. Plural. So at least 3 people. How many people are traveling? How many bags?

Thanks for the guidance. There will be 3 of us. Each of us will probable have 1 carry-on and 1 suitcase, so there would be 3 suitcases to fit in a taxi trunk.

You’ll be fine. Taxis can fit 3 passengers plus luggage.

AND there are vans that take up to 7 and if it looks like they won't fit, they will get them a van.

The official taxi line at CDG is convenient, easily accessed, moves quickly and will take care of what you need. Don't let anyone you encounter who asks if you'd like a ride to distract you. Follow the signs to the taxi line.

Call G7 (if you really have extraordinary circumstances) or download the G7 app for official Paris taxis for around the city or return to CDG. Works like the uber app but you get professional, reliable Paris taxis.

I agree with KD, the “fake taxi drivers” are pesky and will try to get you to ride with them before you get to the taxi stand. Do not take a ride from anyone (unless previously planned) until you get to the official taxi stand. They move pretty fast to, so don’t be overwhelmed if the line appears long. You won’t wait long.
