Our Rick Steves France 2017 book has no mention of what to do in Bordeaux itself. Our APT river cruise ends in Bordeaux in early September and gives us a day touring around the sights in Bordeaux, before we disembark the next morning - probably early. We have 2-3 hours to fill (along with our luggage) before catching a TGV from Bordeaux St-Jean station and heading to Paris. I have limited walking capability due to needing a knee replacement, but short distances should be fine. Does anyone have suggestions for a short tour of a couple of hours or so, that will not repeat the rounds of the main sights we will have probably seen the day before. I'm thinking maybe a taxi or private tour guide who can take us and our luggage from the boat, and drop off finally at the train station. I guess we could possibly end up getting a taxi to the train station and depositing our luggage there and just parking ourselves at a cafe nearby.... Any better ideas would be appreciated!
