7 Nights for Museums in the Cotes d'Azure

Hello travelers. I could use your help, please.

Luckily, I have 7 nights to see some fine art museums between Marseille and Monaco.
I'd like to see:
Mougins: FAMM
Vallauris: National Museum of Picasso and Muse Ceramique
Antibes: Picasso
Biot: Leger and glass making
Cagnes sur Mar: Renoir, Grimanaldi (?)
St Paul Vence & Vence: Maeght, Chagall, Matisse Chapel
Am I missing any you'd recommend?

Can't miss Monaco, right? So one day will be there.

I can rent a car, hire a guide or use public transport.

Where do I stay? Three nights in Antibes and 4 in Nice? Elsewhere?
I fly out of Nice.

Your suggestions are most appreciated! Thanks.

Any reason you are not considering museums in Nice itself? I had to abort my last trip just before Nice, but these were on my itinerary: Museum of Modern & Contemporary Art (MAMAC), Matisse Museum, Palais Lescaris for musical instruments, important Beaux Arts Museum, check Massena Musee for special exhibitions, Chagall Museum.

Nice has so many good museums to see, and it may be beneficial to buy a pass. We enjoyed 2 which I did not see in your list.
The Musée des Beaux-Arts Jules-Chéret in Nice is amazing. I especially enjoyed the small room dedicated to Dufy.
The Musée Masséna is delightful for history buffs. “Built between 1898 and 1901, this sumptuous belle-époque villa now houses a fascinating museum dedicated to the history of Nice and the French Riviera.”
Chagall is buried in St Paul Vence, but his museum in Nice is a must, and lunch at the cafe in the garden is an additional treat.
I adored the Ephrussi-Rothschild Villa in St Jean Cap Ferrat. The residence from La Belle Époque is in an amazing setting, overlooking the Mediterranean. The gardens are fabulous, and you can sit on the balcony to watch the fountains move in unison to the accompanying music. There is a lovely cafe on the grounds as well, so a half-day can be easily enjoyed here. We traveled here by taking a train from Nice, then the bus which stopped right outside the property.
So much to see and do. I hope you have a great trip.

We stayed at the Hotel Aria on 2 different trips. It is a small hotel, nothing fancy, but was well-priced and a safe location, overlooking a park. It was equidistant to the beach and the train station.

The MAMAC in Nice is stilled closed for renovation. If you are coming before the end of September, I suggest prioritizing the Matisse Museum as over 50 works are currently on loan from around the world, for a special exposition on the Med and the sea. It really explodes out the collection. Depending on the special exhibition, the Charles Negre Photography museum has some great special exhibitions. Recent highlights included one on Vivian Maier and another on Robert Doisneau.

For historic sites/grand villas, the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild on Cap Ferrat, and the Villa Kerylos in Beaulieu-sur-mer.
You do have a lot of Museum and historic sites planned. Not all of these are choices are equal, but each person is different.

Hotel recommendations really depend on target budget.

The Chagall Museum in Nice is not to be missed! If you stay in Nice you might want to take a bus/walk to La Reserve, a seriously beautiful area the other side (east) of the hill in Nice. We stayed at a sort of hotel, which caters to conferences, in La Reserve a few years ago. I would stay there again in a heartbeat even though it did require a some walking to get to the center of things and there was no air-conditioning or fan. Gorgeous! We took a bus (around €2 per person as I recall) from Nice to the town that borders Italy and would highly recommend it. Also not to be missed is the Russian Orthodox Church.

Thank you for the replies!

Alohalover: Hotel Aria looks well located but the smaller rooms (non-family sized) are sold out for my dates.

Gooster: Unfortunately, I'll miss the Matisse Museum's special exhibition yet will go. I appreciate your mentioning it, along with the Photo Museum. It's on the list now :) Feel free to help prioritize museums. There are many!

Elizabeth: d'Art Naïf Anatole Jakovsky is now on the list. I wondered about it and appreciate the recommendation.

Kay: Thanks very much for your suggestions. You may have been thinking about Menton - it looks beautiful. Chagall and the Russian church are on the list.

Like Provence, there is more to see than possible in two weeks.

Hotel: three star rating is preferred. Considering south of Victor Hugo and around Grimanaldi - seems central to most sites.
